Stride: Improving your Throwing or Pitching Stride

Need some help firming up your players stride, either in their throwing or pitching? Then here’s a drill that works great. Have your player stand on a baseball mound and either throw overhand or underhand down the mound (using whichever motion they seem to be having their stride trouble with).

My moving down the mound the player will not only feel the benefit of proper weight transfer but will also have to strengthen their stride leg and landing to prevent from continuing forward and wiping out.

Make sure they’re pitching or throwing at full speed and not just lobbing it up there or else the mound won’t really work. Try it next time your players struggle with how to properly use their stride leg and weight transfer.
