If your slappers are having trouble making contact, or hitting any balls in fair territory, then it could be she’s out-running her hands. Make sure your hitters keep their hands in front of their chest as they start their running footwork. Slappers will often move their feet and body forward but keep their hands behind them – actually out running their hands. This makes it almost impossible for the hitter to track the ball, make any type of solid contact and gives her virtually no chance of hitting the ball in fair territory. So remind your slappers to keep their hands in front of their chest just like they do when catching a ball.
