Check out 5 of my favorite quotes.
I think most of us like quotes. They’re short and catchy and usually motivational. Because I include one in every issue of our newsletter, I’ve got a pretty big collection of them.
So, here’s a list of 5 of my favorite quotes, along with why I like them:
(1) “If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said “faster horses”.” – Henry Ford
Why I like it: I this quote because it sums up how strong you need to be in your beliefs in spite of what other people think. When Henry Ford was creating his first-ever car, he didn’t ask people what they wanted because, like he said, they’d all have simply wanted the horses they had to go faster. They would never have said a car, because nobody had yet invented the car. Believe in your thoughts and your dreams with all your might!
(2) “The costs of your good habits are in the present. The costs of your bad habits are in the future.” – James Clear
Why I like it: This really nails the cost of bad habits. I’m a huge fan of James Clear and his work on habits.
(3) “Don’t talk about it. BE about it!”. – LeBron James’ Mom
Why I like it: This is a fantastic quote. It completely sums up how important it is to have your actions do your talking instead of your mouth. I love this quote!
(4) “So far you’ve survived 100% of your worst days. You’re doing great!” – Author Unknown
Why I like it: In an age where so many of our young people are riddled with anxiety, this is a tremendously powerful quote. While the future might look scary, remembering that you’ve already made it through your previous scary days is very, very powerful.
(5) “Let the light that’s inside of you shine brighter than the light that’s on you!” – Dabo Swinney
Why I like it: Instead of focusing on being the star, or the most popular person in the room or on social media, have the biggest heart. Dabo Swinney, the Clemson football coach, is a terrifically insightful person who is always character over content. That’s a difficult message in today’s “likes” world. The first person you should always like is yourself.
