Lots of hitters now have face masks on their batting helmets. These face masks can often be bulky and heavy making it hard for hitters to see over the bars (some masks) and tough to balance and control their heads. While getting a lighter and less obstructive mask is an obvious answer that isn’t always possible for teams and parents on a budget so make sure your players always practice with their helmets on. This helps your players learn to see through the bars and learn to manage the weight of the helmet and mask without it controlling them.
